I was really happy this morning (I think more proud), because my husband helped me with the laundry =D. Not all husbands do that - especially those typical astigin, sometimes insensitive, I’m-watching-basketball/motogp type of guys. At first, I was really hesitant to ask for his help, knowing that doing the laundry is a woman’s thing. But i admit that I am really too lazy to do the laundry. Most of the time my mom does it for me, ('coz she doesn't really like using the washing machine) sometimes I help her especially now that she’s getting old for things that I should be doing by myself already. I am the type of person who can clean the house all day or do the dishes, cook all day, etc., just not the laundry.
Anyway, I’ve read an article last week about surviving the first few years of marriage. And one thing that got stuck in my head was a line there about sharing of household chores - helping each other during the weekends, etc. And so one time while we were preparing for dinner,
Me: lam mo hon may nabasa ako..
Him: ano?
Me: ung isang secret para maging ok ung mag-asawa..
Him: na?
Me: dapat nagtutulungan kayo sa gawaing-bahay
Him: tinutulungan naman kita ah..
Me: e dapat pati sa paglalaba.. diba sabi mo nga dati nung dipa tyo kasal, ikaw maglalaba? (exaggerated! hehe)
Him: e di tayo nga maglalaba
Me: hinde, ako na lang maglalaba, ikaw magbabanlaw
Him: ok
Me: =)
So this morning I woke up at five and started arranging our dirty clothes. I started the laundry at around five forty-five. And when I was about to finish, I woke him up and told him that it’s his time to shine =)
I let him rest for a while and warm up. Just in time that i’m done, he started rinsing our clothes. And as expected, after that early Monday morning activity, we’re both hungry, so we had breakfast together as usual =)
Experience is my mentor. One has to embrace the "very moment" of every experience, to find it's real essence..

Peanut Butter
Just today, (actually just this hour) I thought how inconsiderate of me it is not to write about God’s unconditional love! How He makes my life bearable despite of not-so-good life situations.
If I will list down everything that God has done for me, this blog could be the longest! But I could mention a few.
I know, in my heart that He watched me as I grow up and age. Looking back at my childhood, I could definitely say that he never left me. And until now, I am certain that everything has been planned for me. All I need to do is to wait and have faith.
He tells me to have patience when I had too many unanswered questions. In His planned time, I get all the answers to my questions. By talking to Him and keeping your faith, you can be sure that He’ll never leave you wondering.
He uses other people to help me when I’m in need the most. God knows what you really need more than you do, even if you haven’t asked for it yet (Matthew 6:8). All you need to do is ask… just ask and trust in Him.
Sometimes, His answers are very visible and sometimes instant – He uses dreams or other materials that you use daily. I’ve seen clear answers around five times. One time was when I was in high school. Perhaps He has showed me more, I just failed to see the others.
And so on…
Jesus’ love is so wonderful.
Search for Him…He is waiting for you ♥

5 minutes of fame!
In other words, I did not have anything in mind until this afternoon, something happened.. I was caught sleeping at work! What a shame! But I was not sleeping as if I intended to. I was actually double-checking a work-related file when I fell asleep – which was only about less than five minutes. Too bad, that moment, my immediate supervisor stood up and saw me. I did not see her stand up, but I saw an email from her:
I was really shocked… and ashamed. But not really for falling asleep, but for receiving this email. Heck, all other people in the office feel sleepy at times. Maybe I was just too lucky to have been caught on act.
Pakichet!

Mother knows best :-)
Finally, i have an idea. For about a week or two now, i have been wondering if i am already conceiving. And my husband is always hopeful that i am. But I have not seen any signs of pregnancy within me. My co-worker said, some women conceive without any signs until about two to three months of pregnancy. Well, i will have to wait and find out by doing some tests, or better yet visit a doctor for a check up.
But me getting pregnant isn't really what i want to write about. I thought of writing something about "how i plan to raise my child" or "what i want my child to be when he/she grow up".
1. I want my child to grow up as a God-fearing person.
I don't look or sound like a very religious person, really. But deep inside of me is a raging faith in Him. There were several times, while praying, that i talked to Him about me offering my child/children to Him. Offer in a way that i will make sure they grow up and live in faith and great love for God. I want them to have as much faith as i have, or even more.
2. I would want my child to be loving, respectful and honest at all times.
Just like how i and my cousins were raised by our parents. I grew up with typical close family ties. My cousins and i watch each other as we grow, age, go to school, mature.. And i can say that we were raised to be respectful, sensitive and honest. I, personally, was taught by my mom, as early as i can remember, that it's very important to say "sorry" when you made a mistake. Being honest is also one of the most important thing that i've learned. Whenever she asks me something that she's doubtful about, she would remind me, "Ang sinungaling katumbas ng magnanakaw" (Lying equates stealing). And i always keep that in mind til now. She also showed me, in so many ways, how to be loving and appreciative. Oh, how wonderful it is to be loved by a mom! And so i plan to teach my kid everything that i know.
3. I would also want my child to be clever.
Of course, who wouldn't want that? I'd like my child to grow up smart and independent. How? I've seen some commercials and read some articles on how you can uplift your child. It's by giving them enough encouragement, support, and trust. I grew up shy, but confident. I guess shyness is a part of one's character, but confidence can be earned.
4. Career-wise, i would like them to work according to their true passion.
I think it is ideal that they know what course they really want to take up as early as third year high school. Unlike me, i was given the chance to really think about what i want to be, but i was not able to. Until i landed into a course that i am not so passionate about. But please don't get me wrong, i liked my course - it's just not what i really love doing. My child could also be goal-oriented, which I am not. It's because i never planned or thought about questions like, how do i imagine myself to be 10 years from now, unless i get asked. And when answering, i never really provide great ideals. Maybe because i live by How and not by What. Also, i work by doing my best with what is present. I do plan ahead but i don't usually set goals.
These are the things that i think i'd share to our child/ren as they grow up. Sure there would be more important things to consider as they age.
...But for now, i think my husband and i needs to work on making one ;-)

Learning a new art
And how's married life? Great! And when i said great, i meant a lot of things - good and not so (lol). But of course everything should be good! For one, because you've made one of the biggest decision in your life. Two, you've decided to live with the man/woman of your dreams. The one that you'll be living with, dealing with F.O.R.E.V.E.R..
So how's everything so far?
On our first week, everything's cool. Honestly, there's no huge difference, since we're kinda used to being together almost everyday even before we got married. No, we're not living-in together before marriage, i'm talking about the usual sleep-overs that most couples do. I think another reason could be, not being able to move-in yet into a new house - we're still staying with my family. And during weekends we plan to stay at their house. Nothing different from what we used to do for at least a year now.
Second week was as exciting as the first. Intimacy has been valid (what a term!) - i meant, it became more enjoyable than ever - i think because of the fact that marriage gives you the "license" to do the deed without the guilt. I've also started noticing a few things i have never seen him do before. Or maybe i have, but i'm just not really paying much attention.
Two things that i've learned in two weeks: MORE patience and team work.
Why MORE patience? Because through our six years together, i've learned and practiced patience already. And i think i'm starting to feel that i need to learn and have more of it =P
And team work, actually a more solid team work. Need i explain more?
We are on our third week now. Everything's as good as before, only that there's something that really bothers me.. i am missing 'me'. I miss being alone. The feeling of not having to think about anybody else but me. I miss sleeping alone, eating alone, watching tv alone. I tried to tell my mom about it and she said it is very normal for me to feel that way. Because we're still starting and we have to adjust to our new situation. And she mentioned patience - just as how important it is as i've realized.
I do not feel like i've done a wrong decision when i married him - of course not! I do not have any regrets. And i'm definitely not complaining. I think i am just really at the point of adjusting.
I look forward to learning and discovering new things with my husband. Ultimately, i'd like to be the best wife in the world.
...And i promise to write more about married life :-)
