For me, Christmas is the happiest time of the year. Love is felt everywhere, people are always smiling, buying gifts here and there - such a perfect season! But there's something about Christmas brings tears to some people... it is when you want to be with each and every member of the family but you can't.
You can't because they might be too busy with work, or when they already have their own family to celebrate it with, when they just suddenly forgot how happy it was before or when you just can no longer be with them because they are already gone.
I can say that I have had perfect Christmases during my childhood. Everyone makes time to travel and go "home". Warm hugs and greetings. And the day before Christmas, everyone is busy preparing. Mothers cook, men prepares loud sounds, great lights and fireworks, while children play and run errands for the folks.
At night, all kids must be asleep, otherwise, they will not receive anything from Santa - it's what the elders used to tell. And when the clock strikes twelve, oh how heart-warming it is to see everyone gathered around, enjoying the food, exchanging greetings and gifts. Everyone goes to sleep with a full heart. The celebration is not complete without attending the early morning mass.
If i am to lose my memory, this is one of the things that i'd wish i could keep.
